The best place to see Blues music in Wales is right here at the Tenby Blues Festival. Held annually we have had numerous successful events with some big names in Blues including Johnny Dickinson and Eugene 'Hideaway' Bridges.

Our website will give you details on some of our previous Blues music festivals and details on artists that will be performing at the next event. You will also be all the information you will need for recommended accommodation, booking and what else you can do on a visit to Tenby.

All of the events and acts that we show on our site will all be confirmed so there is no misleading information and you can book in advance knowing the artist you wish to see will be performing.

Seaside Music Festival

The Tenby Blues Weekend is a fantastic seaside music festival for blues lovers around the country or even the world for that matter. Our blues weekend takes place once a year and goes from strength to strength with many famous artists from around the world each year.

This year our music festival has confirmed acts including Eugene 'Hideaway' Bridges, Sherman Robertson, Ted Crooks Blues, The Spikedrivers and many more. Prices for seeing individual events vary between £5 and £15, the full weekend tickets start at £45 and there are numerous free events that we have added this year, these take place in various pubs and bars around the town; timetables for these events can be found at the De Valence in Tenby. For those who are interested we also have workshops over the weekend with each session lasting around 90 minutes and will be taken by an artist from this years festival.

Sherman Robertson

AT the Tenby Blues Festival 2008 we are pleased to confirm that Sherman Robertson has been confirmed and will be performing on Saturday evening at the premier concert at the De Valence on the Chevron Stage. Tickets for this event cost £15.

Sherman Robertson is considered as a master of hard swinging electric blues as well as swampy Louisiana blues. He always manages to thrill his audience with the way he can combine all his blues skills and put a rock edge on them.

Sherman Robertson is a product of the region of the country that he grew up in: partly zydeco, partly swamp blues, partly electric blues and a little bit of R & B thrown in for good measure. His style of playing is based on rhythm, but at the same time, he plays some extraordinary slide guitar and in the course of one of his typical three hour shows, he'll play a lot of great solos.

If you haven't heard or seen Sherman Robertson live then we recommend you get your ticket booked as soon as possible before we sell out as there will be a great demand from blues lovers when they know that Sherman has been confirmed to play.

Johnny Dickinson

The third Tenby Blues Festival takes place between November 14th and 16th 2008. Artists, some still waiting to be confirmed, include Johnny Dickinson is classed as the most potent slide player in the United Kingdom.

Johnny Dickinson had a fantastic start to his career and reached the top 20 of the Gallup chart and Kerrang magazine claimed it was one of the best British albums of the past decade. Unfortunately the band Splitcrow that he was with split up he then formed a band called Paul Lamb and the Kingsnakes and won numerous British and International blues awards which he is still proud of to this day.

He left them to return to his roots and formed the Hillbillies From Outerspace playing music with various influences from folk through to heavy metal but they never actually recorded an album even though they had lots of fans.

in 2001 Johnny Dickinson produced his first ever solo album and he hasn't looked back since. He offers an individual style mixing American Blues with Celtic flavours which are sure to amaze every listener.

Eugene 'Hideaway' Bridges

Eugene 'Hideaway' Bridges will be performing at De Valence on the Chevron Stage at the opening concert of the 2008 Tenby Blues festival. The concert commences at 7.30pm on November 14th through to the 16th tickets for the opening concert on the Friday will are priced fairly at £15 each.

Eugene 'Hideaway' Bridges spends a lot of his life on the road travelling across many continents taking his music near and far. He is recognised as one of the top blues festival performers in the world. He has been nominated for 2 awards at the Blues Foundation awards this year which are; Best soul blues artist of the year and best soul blues album of the year.

The Spikedrivers

The Spikedrivers will be performing at the Tenby Blues Festival 2008 on the De Valence Chevron Stage. They will be performing in the opening concert along with Eugene 'Hideaway' Bridges and The Numbers Rackets. The performance begins at 7.30 PM and tickets cost £15.

The Spikedrivers offer a fresh and exciting sound, the band consists of three members; Ben Tyzack on guitar, harmonica and vocals, Constance Redgrave on bass guitar, vocals and percussion and veteran blues drummer Maurice Mcelroy.
